Updated: May 17

  • Okra / Ladys finger seeds needs to be soaked in water for at least 12-18 hours so that they absorb the moisture before being sowed.

  • Ladys finger plants can grow in all types of soil but the soil should be fertilized well before planting them.

  • Sow the Ladys finger seeds at 1/2 inch deep in light soil and 1 inch deep in heavy soil;

  • Spacing for the Ladys finger plants should be 3 inches apart in rows 3 feet apart.

  • After 12 days, of the planting the Ladys finger the seed will begin to germinate

  • When the okra seeds planted have germinated and grown to 3 inches height , thin out the smaller okra seedlings and leave the strongest ones standing so that they will grow well.
