How to grow Lemon plants at home

Today, we’re diving into one of the most rewarding crops you can grow – lemons. Whether you’re starting a small orchard or expanding your farm, I’ll walk you through step by step how to plant lemon trees the right way.

Choosing the Right Spot:

First things first – location matters! Lemons love sunlight, so pick a spot that gets at least 6–8 hours of direct sun every day. The soil should be well-drained and slightly acidic. Avoid waterlogged areas because lemon roots are sensitive to excess moisture.

Preparing the Soil:

Plow the land thoroughly and mix in organic compost or farmyard manure. This improves fertility and helps the young plants establish quickly. If your soil is heavy clay, add sand to improve drainage.

Planting the Saplings:

Now, dig pits about 2x2 feet wide and deep. Space the trees 12–15 feet apart to give them room to grow. Place the sapling in the center, fill with soil, and press gently. Water immediately after planting.

Watering & Care:

Water regularly, especially during the first year. Drip irrigation works best to avoid overwatering. Keep the area around the tree free from weeds, and mulch with straw or dry leaves to retain moisture.

Fertilization & Growth Tips:

Feed your lemon trees with nitrogen-rich fertilizer three times a year. Add micronutrients like zinc and iron if needed. Prune weak branches to encourage healthy growth.”

And that’s it – your lemon farm is ready to thrive! With proper care, you’ll start seeing fruits in about 3–4 years. If you found this video helpful, don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more farming tips. See you next time.
