Planting Okra at home gardens

Updated: Apr 15

  • Okra seeds should be soaked in water overnight to allow them to absorb the moisture before being sowed.

  • Okra can grown in different types of soil for home gardening.

  • Plant the seeds 1/2 inch deep in grow bags and 1 inch deep in heavy soil;

  • Spacing in the grow bags should be 3 to 4 inches apart in rows 3 feet apart.

  • After around 3 days of planting, the seed will begin to germinate.

  • When the seeds you planted have sprouted and grown to 3 inches high, thin out the smaller seedlings and leave the strongest ones standing
